Saving Ebi

In July, 2012, Marilyn and I did something really crazy.  We rescued a dog from an animal shelter.  Which is not crazy at all in itself.  But this dog was in a kill shelter in Los Angeles, we live in Washington, the rescue took an enormous amount of effort, and had some surprising twists and turns, but the story ends well.

This is the story of that rescue.

Rescue chronology and costs only

Genealogy Links

In January of 2014, Marilyn Clark put considerable effort into creating an "ancestor calendar" for my mother for her 91st birthday.  The calendar and some of its contents may be historically interesting to many other people, especially those familiar with Oglethorpe County, Georgia.  It's difficult to share a paper calendar with others, so I've added the links below so they can see these documents on line.  The calendar is a big file, so you'll need a high speed internet connection to access it.  The fan chart and map are both included as graphic elements in the calendar, but are much easier to read if viewed separately.

2014 Ancestor Calendar for Katherine 'Peggy' W. Howard - 9 megabytes

Fan Chart for Katherine 'Peggy' W. Howard - 2 megabytes

1891 Map of Oglethorpe County, Georgia - 1 megabyte

Pepper tribute

Tribute to my wonderful Border Terrier dog "Pepper" who died in May, 2010.  Read it here.

Lutherie Jigs

I've created a whole new website for my lutherie.  It's called Ebi Ukuleles.  Check it out!

My old page of jigs on this website can still be seen here but will no longer be updated.

Climbing Story

In 1984 I was involved in a harrowing rock climbing accident in which my friend and climbing partner was killed in a fall and I narrowly escaped a similar fate.  Read about it here: Yosemite Climbing Accident.

Escapees Magazine Photo

I submitted a photo for the cover of Escapees Magazine that was rejected because it was digital and had insufficient resolution.  But they used it inside the magazine for the title page of a section on boondocking.  Click here to see a scan of the magazine page.
